The
Kerala film and video park is considering setting up an animation
school in partnership with the National Institute of Design. For
this, it has commissioned Ernst & Young to prepare a technical
and commercial viability cum feasibility report .
Following some reports last week, which claimed that KFVP was tying
up with Sheridan, KFVP MD Suresh Babu clarified to Animation
'xpress that, " It is true that we are toying with
the idea of an animation school, and we are also thinking of roping
in an international partner, but as of now nothing is confirmed
as yet. We are all awaiting the feasibility report."
"We are considering the animation school following the recommendation
of the NASSCOM report which has emphasized on the need for quality
animation training centers in India" he added.
NID
activity chairperson Nina Sabnani told Animation 'xpress that,"Following
the feasibility report if the project is on, we would be the intellectual
partners devising the curricullum and training the faculty."
Talking about KFVP and its proposed animation zone which was launched
late last year, Suresh Babu said," We have started construction
for the complex which will be around 100,000 sq feet when completed.
We do have some reputed Post production outfits at KFVP like Prasad
Labs, Mohanlal Post Production, Revathy's Kala Mandir and the London
based Murli Nair's units."
