MUMBAI: Mudra Group has roped in Anurag Gupta as president strategic initiatives and integration.

In his new capacity, which comes into effect from 10 July, Gupta will report to the newly appointed Mudra Group COO Pratap Bose.

Prior to this appointment, Gupta was president at Ogilvy Action, the brand activation arm of the Ogilvy Group.

At Mudra, Gupta will be responsible for venturing the Group into events, sports, rural and retail marketing. He will also work with the senior management team to integrate solutions and build through-the-line capabilities.

Mudra Group MD and CEO Madhukar Kamath said, "The Mudra Group has already built a number of strong marketing services specialists. However, our ambition does not stop here. It is time for us to build industry leading brands in events, sports, rural and retail marketing. In addition to venturing into new businesses, Anurag will help deliver through the line brand experience capabilities for our key clients."

Adding further, Gupta said, “I have always believed that only setting up divisions is not enough. The future and growth in our business lies in delivering value to clients by offering seamless solutions across platforms rather than airtight silos of events, promotion, digital, retail, PR or outdoor. We have chalked out ambitious plans and we are on the lookout for evangelists who think like us."

With stints in Grey, Lowe, Unilever, Draft Worldwide East Africa and Ogilvy Action, Gupta brings with him 12 years of marketing and brand management experience at Mudra.
