MUMBAI: Reliance Retail has sealed a joint venture deal with Pearle Europe, an optical retail company, to launch Vision Express, its first optical chain in India.

Reliance, which has already got the necessary approval from FIPB, plans to open the first outlet by September this year in Bangalore.

The new unit aims to bring in a range of private label frames, lenses, sunglasses, contact lenses and solutions.

Pearle Europe, a subsidiary of HAL Investments, started off in November 1996 with the acquisition of Pearle Netherlands from the US based Pearle Vision Inc.
