Postal department partners O&M to create new brand identity

MUMBAI: Ogilvy and Mather (O&M) is set to restructure the postal department brand of India.

The government has roped in this ad agency to design a new logo and new uniforms for its postal department. O&M will also create a new slogan for the India post.

Termed as Project Arrow, the new initiative aims to witness the makeover and up gradation of at least 500 post offices in two phases by the end of this calendar year.

Global consultant McKinsey & Co has also been signed upon to develop revamp strategy measures for the department.

While phase one will see the revamping of 50 post offices by August, phase two will complete by 2008 end.

The project is being spearheaded by minister of state for communication and information technology Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Currently, there are around1,55,000 post offices in India out of which 26,000 are department post offices.
