AAAI re-elects Madhukar Kamath as president; Colvyn Harris elected as VP

MUMBAI: Mudra Communications managing director and chief executive officer Madhukar Kamath has been re-elected as president of the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) for the year 2008-09.

The decision was unanimously taken at the annual general body meeting of the AAAI held in Mumbai on 22 July.

Also, Colvyn Harris, chief executive officer of JWT, was unanimously re-elected as vice president of the AAAI.

"I have been associated with the AAAI since a very long time now and it feels great to be re-elected once again. This association has been set up to promote the Indian advertising industry as a whole and we have a certain set of agenda that we will follow to upgrade this industry further," said Harris.

The other elected members of the executive committee for the ensuing year are:

2. Kunal Lalani - Crayons Advertising

3. M G Parameswaran - DRAFTFCB+Ulka Advertising

4. Nagesh Alai - Interface Communications

5. Neville Gomes - Multimedia Aquarius

6. Prasoon Joshi - McCann Erickson India

7. Pranav Premnarayen - Prem Associates Advertising & Marketing

8. Rajeev Ruia - Overture Communications

9. Sam Balsara - Madison Communications

10. Sudhir P Ghate - Magnum Intergrafiks

11. Suman Srivastava - Euro RSCG Advertising

12. Surajit Nag - Advertising & Sales Promotion Company

13. Tapas Gupta - BEI Confluence Communication

14. Vinod Nair - Network Advertising

The immediate past president, Srinivasan K Swamy, chairman and managing director of R K Swamy BBDO, will be the ex-officio member of the new AAAI executive committee.
