MUMBAI: Buzz18.com, the entertainment website from the Network18 group, together with Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International and Mukta Arts, has launched “Bollywood’s Next – Writer’s Contest”.

Through this contest, both the parties aim to highlight the country's best untapped talent, stated an official press release.

The aspiring participants need to submit their story concept (1,500-word synopsis) on buzz18.com before 15 June. Shortlisted candidates will move on to the next round wherein they will have to narrate a script idea on camera.

The winners will be selected by a jury comprising filmmaker Subhash Ghai, script writer-actor-producer Anjum Rajab Ali, script writer-director Sachin Bhowmick and buzz18.com editor Chandrima Pal.

The final winner will be awarded with a full-time scholarship at Whistling Woods International along with a chance to work with the production house. Also, the winner will be provided with additional incentives too.

Speaking on the initiative, Buzz 18 editor Chandrima Pal stated, "After the overwhelming response to our maiden initiatives, 'Shortcut' and 'Stir up your dreams contest', we realized the potential of the internet in reaching out to the countless showbiz aspirants across various fields. This new initiative is aimed at breaking the metro centric talent myth and will present an ideal platform to budding script writers from across the country."
