Viewers will be sitting pretty when STAR WORLD presents a back-to-back
marathon of Ugly Betty Season One on Sun, 27 July.
Starting
at 9am, relive Betty’s premiere season with this super-sized
programming special. With Season Two debuting on STAR WORLD on Mon
11 Aug at 10pm, this all-day marathon gives fans a chance to revisit
Season One’s fabulous fashion and delicious dramas.
Return
to a time when style-challenged Betty Suarez (America Ferrera) began
her climb up the corporate ladder and started working for Daniel
Meade (Eric Mabius), editor of the ultra-hip Mode magazine. STAR
WORLD’s exclusive telecast of all 23 episodes lets viewers
catch up on all of the conspiracies, catty quips and couture designs.
In
its debut season, Ugly Betty was a critical and ratings smash, attracting
an average 14 million US viewers a week. Nominated for 11 Emmy Awards,
the show took home three trophies, including a Best Actress Prize
for Ferrera. At the Golden Globes, Ferrera was once again honoured
with a Best Actress statuette and the series was named Best TV Comedy.
After
STAR WORLD’s round-the-clock Betty-fest, you’ll be primed
for the launch of Season Two on Mon, 11 Aug at 10pm. Picking up
from Season One’s cliffhanger finale, Daniel and Alexis (Rebecca
Romijin) remain unconscious after the car accident while Betty,
having failed to get a green card for her father, struggles to run
the household.
This
year fans can expect guest turns from American Idol judge Simon
Cowell, rock legend Gene Simmons, Victoria Beckham, Project Runway
winner Christian Siriano, and Eliza Dushku (Tru Calling).
