animators to showcase their animation skills but also gives them a potential platform
for launching themselves in the industry as true professionals. The awards are
judged by a panel of eminent experts from the global animation fraternity Amidst
the excitement of announcements of awards, there was refreshing entertainment
for the audiences with performances by Dr. Tushar Shah and Toby Fernandes. Toby's
unbelievable act as 43 different characters and Dr. Shah's cynical poetry had
the audience in splits. Speaking
at the 24 FPS Awards 2008, Ronald D'mello, MD, MEL said, "24 FPS Animation
Awards has raised the bar yet again. With over 600 participants this year, the
Indian animation industry is definitely reshaping itself. I'm simply overwhelmed
with the skills, production quality that have churned some outstanding animation
films that stand apart in creativity, entertain the audience and yet convey the
gravity of the subject at hand. This year we have included VFX in motion pictures
as a category which has catapulted the spectrum to different level."
