Overview of Financial Industry advertising on TV during FY 2007- 2008

  • Advertising of Financial Industry saw a growth of 34 per cent on TV during last financial year compared to same period in 2006-2007.
  • Banking and Financial Services garnered 53 per cent share of overall Financial Industry advertising on TV during fiscal year of 2007.

  • Insurance Sector advertising up by 54 per cent on TV during FY 2007-2008 over FY 2006-2007.

Rank Displacement of Sub segments of Financial Industry on TV during FY 2007-2008.

  • During FY 2007- 2008, 5 out of top 10 sub-segments of Financial Industry maintained their ranks compared to FY 2006-07.
  • Three of the sub-segments of Financial Industry leaped maximum places to be in top 10 list of FY 2007-2008 compared to their respective ranks in FY 2006-2007, viz. Health/Accidents General Insurance, Retail Banking and Personal/Professional Loans.

Top Advertisers of Financial Industry on TV.

  • Top 10 advertisers share aggregates to 38 per cent of the overall Financial Industry on TV during FY 2007-2008.
  • During the financial year of 2007 maximum of five advertisers were from Insurance Sector and four were from the Banking and Financial Services.

Top Brands of Financial Industry on TV.

  • Top 10 brands share aggregates to 20 per cent of overall advertising share of Financial Industry on TV during FY 2007- 2008.
  • During FY 2007-2008, the top 10 list of brands comprised of 5 brands of Banking and Financial Services and 4 were from Insurance Sector.

Average Advertising frequency per day of Financial Market on TV.

  • Among the all the segments of Financial Industry maximum growth in Average Ads/Day aired on TV was recorded under Insurance Sector during FY 2007- 2008 compared to 2006 financial year.
  • Whereas at second and third positions were Others* and Banking and Financial Services with 40 per cent and 27 per cent growth in their respective average advertising/day on TV during FY 2007-2008 compared to 2006 financial year.
